They just accepted a price increase to keep the place open, did they not?

Here is another post I made regarding this issue on another thread, but no one ever responded.

As for why taxpayers should pay for it. Well, you have to look deeper into the issue. I'm just pulling these numbers out of my rear end, but you get the idea.
According to the City of Omaha website, the city owns 8 municipal golf courses. Well actually there are 9, but Knolls is listed as privately managed and since I don't know how their expenses/revenue are split with the city, we'll exclude them from this conversation.
Ok, so let's do some hypothetical math here.
8 city golf courses x $25,000 per year in maintence = $200,000.
7 city golf courses x $65,000 per year in revenues = $490,000
Then...
$490,000
- $200,000
--------------
$290,000 in profit for the city
Subtract $10,000 for the money lost at Westwood and you're still at a $280,000 profit for the city.
That's good, right? Well let's see.
$200,000 divided by 438,646 residents = $0.46 burden per resident.
Now, let's say we got rid of the golf courses. Now the citizens don't have to pay that $200,000 but the city has lost out on $290,000 in profit. Well they need that $290,000 back, so some other tax gets raised to make up for it.
$290,000 divided by 438,646 residents = $0.66 burden per resident.
$0.66
- $0.46
-----------
$0.20
Now again these are all hypothetical numbers just pulled out of the air, but assuming that Westwood is the only course that is losing money, it's actually a good deal for tax payers as they're saving themselves some tax burden and providing relatively low cost recreation for their fellow citizens.

Wow... I just did a search for "Stadium" in the Omaha sections.... Someone is really bitter about the stadium when you see all the titles lumped together.
I am going to start a new thread... I hope the bitterness dosn't spill over there!
