Gretna?
I know it's not technically part of Omaha, but figure this is a good place to talk about it.
We are hoping to meet some freinds there in a few weeks for dinner. Where is a good place in Gretna to go for dinner and a few drinks? We're not that picky about cuisine types just a non-fast food situation that serves adult beverages.

It's not that we are just dying to eat in Gretna. We have some freinds that live in lincoln and there is a Halloween party we are going to in Gretna. It's roughly halfway for each of us so we just want to get something to eat there and have a few adult beverages before going to the party.

Go up to the Lakeside area (168th and Center) or to Mahoney. You'll find much better options there. In Gretna you can get a few chain restaurants/fast-food, or your typical small-town, rural bars... dimly lit, a few greasy food choices, and not much more than Bud Light on the beer list with a few other drink options that you can get just about anywhere. Pretty unrewarding. Some people in the area have said that Spiker's is good, but I never have been there. It's newer and I moved from Gretna to north-central Omaha a couple years ago. Though I don't typically frequent the area, I am aware of a number of good choices on West Center between 168th and 180th including Upstream and Fox and Hound. Either of those will beat anything Gretna has to offer. I'm most familiar with the beers at Upstream or F/H but am sure there are other adult beverages offered too.

We needed up jsut grabbing some pizza at the Sam and Louie's out there. You see we were all in Halloween costumes so we didn;t want to go somwhere too nice. Just somewhere with some food and some beer. It fit the bill nicely. I don't think most people even realized I was wearing a Billy Ray Cyrus costume. I guess they're sued to giant Mullets out there.
We then went over to Jackson's Corner sang some Karaoke and had a real good time. Gretna treated us well.

Yeah -- forgot about S&L. They do have good food and a pretty good beer selection.
