Save the snarky little comments for somebody they'll work on.

If you stretch this graph out and look at the BIG picture it is clear that there are year to year fluctuations, BUT the overall trend shows going up. IF this continues for the next ten years we can probably talk about a cooling trend. This article doesn't seem like anything but propaganda to me.

It's a perfect example of looking at the small picture, not the big picture...
What you are doing is a perfect example of looking at the small picture, not the big picture.

That said... I gave you a sample - a SAMPLE - of the data that conclusively prove that there is NO CONSENSUS on Global Warming. That alone proves your little "It's Global Warming not Omaha Warming" comment wrong.

One of the things I find amusing - in a sad way - is that the Global Warming zealots are now bemoaning the fact that the earth's average temperature is cooling. Why? Because they don't care about the environment. They care about money and control.

And again, as I've said 3 times now: Everybody should be as environmentally friendly as possible.

In fact, I'd bet my last dollar that my family lives exponentially more "green" than do you - even though we're not involved in the Religion of Global Warming.

I find the topic very interesting, but the way the op started this thread by making a cheap Limbaughesque statement was very annoying. I also agree that we should try to live as green as we can. In my house we have the electric bill down to about 40$ a month, have many veggies canned and frozen for the winter, garden about 1/6 of an acre, compost (which has reduced our garbage output by almost half), and save water in the bathroom amongst many things. I have found that our diet over the last couple of years has increased greatly and the money that we spend has decreased.

That's awesome!

My wife & I have basically cut all fast food and most processed foods out of our daily diet. Good sized garden, etc. I've lost 10 lbs (my wife never needed to lose any) and I feel better.

I've not been able to get our monthly electric bill down to $40 per month. Not yet anyway.

Again, I think it's really good to live as "green" as possible - and this is completely and totally apart for all the Global Warming arguments. Just do the right thing.

How does one year being cooler than the last prove global cooling??

I gave you an example - an EXAMPLE - of one of the many problems with the religion of global warming. How many more would you like? And are you not capable of finding any of the information yourself?

Oh you are so missing the point!!!!!

One year being cooler than the last does not in any way indicate a trend.

No, it is YOU that is missing the point!

This is not a 1-year glitch. The average earth temperature has been cooling since 1997.

Micro-trend? Perhaps. But it sure is screwing up things for Al Gore and his zealous disciples.

Now... What are you doing to be environmentally friendly? Or are you another of the Global Warming people who doesn't live what he preaches?

I think this pretty well illustrates my point. As you can see year to year there may be cooler years. But the overall global temperature arch is trending up. If the next ten years show a cooler trend we can talk about global cooling, but right now, it's highly premature.
