MOre like what they did to themselves. Fahey said he had no intention of annexing Elkhorn and then Elkhorn's leaders tried to annex their way to be annex-proof and brought Omaha upon themselves. So blame former mayor of Elkhorn, not the former Mayor of Omaha.

so you are saying elkhorn had no right to defend itself from possibly being annexed

They didn't have anything to defend. Omaha had no plans to annex them and Elkhorn struck first so Omaha had to defend it's own interests.

So yes, I supported the people of Elkhorn's right to overreact and bring upon themselves the one thing they didn't want.

Basically, no. Our annexation laws were held up when we went through the same deal with Millard back in the 70's. They knew we were well within our rights and they still cost us years and money over a losing fight.

Oh and like DTO said, they brought it on themselves. When it became clear that they were going to lose the case, THEN they wanted to work with us and have some kind of agreement. Too bad for them that we had already invested too much in the fight to back out.

I dont recall any streets named Rosenblatt or Dworak. There is a Sorenson expressway. I am sure there is a Cunningham St., but probably not named after him. What about a Lahay (sp) St

And Elkhorn should be proud to be a neighborhood of one the the best cities in the US by many ratings. Fremont, Blair, and Plattsmouth, you're next.

Not sure about Dworak but there is (obviously) Rosenblatt Stadium and Cunningham Lake.

Also Omaha can't annex any of those places.

The only objection I have is that I'm confused enough with street names, damnit!

I came to Omaha four years ago from a REALLY small town in California. It took me 2 years to realise addresses generally coordinated with a number and name street. haha.
