I never said that your donating to charity is bad. I just said that yes--we Christians argue, as this thread shows, but contrary to what you seemed to be implying in your post, we're not bad folks to have around. For the most part, more good than bad is done in the name of Christianity.
But are you not imposing your way of thinking on me by telling me what I should or should not do?

Ironic isn't it? Both sides of the fence need to sit down, chill out, take a back seat and just talk without trying to offend other people or restrict other people just because we believe one way or another... We should be working together to create a dynamic country, instead we are working ourselves into garbage over stupid politics and special interests..
The very thing this country was built on and made it grade is being used for the wrong reasons and you are seeing the repercussions of it..
And I am not saying that any one side is innocent, there is too much bickering and fighting over ideology, philosophy and things that need to stay as far away from government as possibly...
I understand that christianity has done more good than harm, but people are trying to use it for political agendas way too much and it actually is kinda hurting us just as much as the anti-christians who have agendas..

You'll get no argument from me about people using it for politics.
People are people, and we do stupid stuff--even those claiming to be religious.

Welcome to St. Paul United Methodist Church located in Omaha, Nebraska
I know some folks who go there and that church I know preaches good sermons
I went there for their Good Friday service earlier this year and it was good.
if you check out UMC churches, try that one
it is across the street from the Hartland BBQ and Gallagher Park area in the Benson area

Thanks for all the advice, that probably saved me a lot of time that would have been otherwise wasted.
In response to the above poster, I'm not set on a United Methodist church (I've been a member of Lutheran, Baptist, and UMC), but I seem to be most comfortable with it. I know that can have a lot to do with the pastor. Not to offend anyone, but I prefer to stay away from the Catholic churches.

I'm that previous poster.
Sounds reasonable enough. Hope you find a church that teaches good doctrine and helps you grow. There are a few good ones, and there are a few stinkers, too.
