Which religious denominations are you interested in? And what part of Omaha?

If you are interested in a small country church, try Zion West Lutheran Church. 144th and IDA. Grest bunch of people.

Mega church or smaller?
Mainline or more evangelical?
North, South, East or West?
If in Sarpy County and want smaller to mid size then a very good one is Overland Hlls Church in Papillion.

Not to butt in, but I would be interested in knowing of a good catholic church that leans towards contemporary philosophy. Not the strict traditional teachings.

Snowblind,
I might have a suggestion for you. First, as a disclaimer, I have to tell you that I'm not a religious person. However, my soon-to-be wife is religious and she's Catholic. I agreed to attend "couple's counseling" classes so we could get married in her church. St. John's-Vianney near the 120th and Q St. area might just fit your needs. The priest was very progressive. I am a pretty science minded, show me the proof, person and I did not at all feel uncomfortable. In fact, the priest on a number of occasions went on and on about how evolution and all that exists in science is absolutely fact. He also talked about how frustrated he gets with fundamentalist who can't understand that teachings like "Adam/Eve" are not supposed to be taken literally. Anyway, he just seemed very progressive (and I would add he was in his 70s...so its not just a young age thing). Now, on a personal note, I still don't necessarily believe what he talked about, but for your beliefs I would be willing to bet it resonates quite well.
