Becoming? Did you sleep through the last decade or something?

Omaha media has never been much to brag about. Sure, KETV has been a pretty solid since before I can remember, but WOWT has consistently grown worse over the years and KMTV has basically anchored themselves in the 3rd best slot despite numerous attempts to make the jump. KPTM actually has some good on air talent with Taylor Wilson, Amanda Mueller and Jenny Nowatzke, but the station has been an underfunded joke since the it started broadcasting over 20 years ago.

I'm just glad that blog does such an excellent job of covering their screw ups. I know when that blog first started up it pissed off alot of the local media (especially Travis Justice) who spent considerable time and resources trying to figure out who Ted Brockman really is.

Yeah, it's pretty sad in the Omaha media, and that's not even talking about the World Herald which is pretty lame itself.

I used to like KMTV back in the day when Loretta Carol, Trina Creighton and Deb Ward were around. How about Carol Schrader on KETV? She was a very, very good reporter.

the owh is collapsing

ever since Kroeger took over, it has become a joke and mind you it was bad under Gottschalk but not as bad then as it is under Kroeger.

a lot of it's "journalists" like Dejka and Robb and Saunders (very pro-OPS school district and bashes other schools a lot in articles

despite one of them is a Millard South High School alum)

and Gonzalez (pro-Illegal aliens)

and Leslie Reed and Leia Baez-Mendoza (fanatically pro-abortion in some stories)

have been slanted and or told half truths in their reporting

my prediction: OWH will root for the re-election of Bambi Bartek and Mona McGregor and Shirley Tyree and Nancy Kratky and Penny Sophir who are up for re-election in 2010

over anyone who runs against them cause some at the OWH and OPS dont want fresh new faces and ideas on the OPS board

they did this in 2008 by rooting for 5 of the 6 incumbents, despite several of them had been on the board for decades.

the rumors of the OWH disolving the evening paper in the next couple of years (i.e. to phase out paper carriers and make it all morning delievery)

and the rumor of their office on 56th and crown pointe got merged with another office out west somewhere due to budget cuts.

shows the owh has some problems.

btw: there are some good OWH reporters and journalists: Kevin Cole and Andrew Nelson and Chris Burbach and the sports guys like Pospisil and Shatel

and Mike Kelly and Jeff Koterba are all good as are a few others

================================================== =

I too used to like KMTV back in the day when Loretta Carol, Trina Creighton and Deb Ward were around.

Carol Schrader on KETV was good.

all wowt has for good reporters anymore is Ross Jernstrom and Jim Flowers and Mike McKnight

Klaus and Fagin are both gone. too bad, cause I liked those 2 at wowt.

bosco,

I have heard rumors that "Brockman" maybe a ex KMTV or WOWT employee or reporter with a axe to grind

Brockman sure hates channel 6 more than any media outlet
