sounds like Dale gribble from King of the Hill should have a radio show on "Liberty Radio" considering it is mostly conspiracy theorist types

NEBRASKA:
The FCC has ordered Sean Murta to shut down an unlicensed transmitter broadcasting on AM 1640 from his home in Omaha.

The transmitter is apparently part of the "Liberty Radio" microcaster network, which also has unlicensed transmitters in the Sioux Falls, Aberdeen, and Twin Cities areas.

The network's website Liberty 1640 AM operating schedule (http://liberty1640.com/schedule.htm - broken link)

says the transmitters operate with 100 milliwatts and comply with FCC rules.

However, the FCC says its field agents found the transmitter at Murta's residence was operating at levels far exceeding those allowed for unlicensed transmitters. (4/15/2010)

haha!
In school, I have learned that for several technical reasons they have no choice but to regulate these channels.
Between interference within a cell, and interference crossing into another this is a problem that can only be addressed through regulation.

Ya, if those frequencies aren't regulated then they are wasted, due to interference. As a result, the FCC has to dole out the frequencies and how they are used. Some might like to think that this is some sort of infringement but its simply the FCC doing its job.

And let's face it, you turn on the radio and tv you get about every single view point imaginable. The FCC isn't in the business of shutting down transmitters based on the message.

This guy's transmitter was somewhere up around 72nd & Blondo. I could pick it up, albeit faintly, on my truck radio down at 108th & Q, and that's a distance of more than 6 miles from the transmitter. Which tells me that he was clearly broadcasting with more than the one-tenth of a watt that is allowed by the FCC for Part 15 broadcasters. The FCC was right in doing what it did.
