Because the state did not have the authority to walk on civil liberties based on race.

Not the issue with gay marriage.

The bottom line is that all cases are not created equal. You simply can't say that the SCOTUS reviewed this case, so they will or have to review this other case. It would simply be against their principles to look at cases that way.

Each case is entitled to it's own set of arguments and circumstances. That's why everytime someone tries to bring something to court based off the ruling of another case they get tossed unless they are very very simliar. The state recognition of gay marriage is not a civil rights issue nor is it in direct violation of any law common, or otherwise like anti-miscegenation laws were. The court will require a blatantly obvious violation of the US constitution and/or an argument based off of the law, not just how another unrelated case was decided. Until then, the cases will continue to get rejected.

How about we all just agree that Benson is NOT going to become a "Gay District", that it's a STUPID idea, and then patronize the businesses we want to patronize?

That will be up to the court to decide if/when it gets there.

Surf wants everything to turn into gay debate. He only comes around his posts to stir the pot.
