A shooting in West Omaha. The heck.

Most likely it was somebody trying to collect drug money.

Wonder if it's related to the other incident where a guy was chased and shot. Same suspect?

Do you mean over on Fontanelle Blvd?

Could be the same perpetrator, but he was driving a different vehicle.

Yah...true. I think that guy was driving an SUV, wasn't he? Of course, first thing I'd do is ditch my Suburban and get a little Honda if the police were looking for the SUV.

I don't know...just thinking out loud. I'm sure the police are at least looking at it.

I remember when I was a senior in High School, some idiot at Westside (or some other school in West Omaha) was shooting up cars with a BB gun. It was some time near the end of the school year (late April or early May I think). The next day, my own South High School at it's first fight of the year. Irony.

I think it's time for a better gun dad. That .22 rifle didn't do the job. If you want to go rifle, I'd go .308.

The White Flight - we're superior - folks in West O can say whatever they want about the problems in North Omaha. And there are plenty of problems in North O.

But one of the main things going on in North Omaha (and this is coming straight from an Omaha Police officer) is that West Omaha kids (and adults) are driving into North O to buy their drugs. Some of the West O kids are peddling the drugs at school (hence the major drug busts at the Millard & Papillion Schools we all know about, but that the media won't report), and some are just shooting up.

Wherever there is high demand, there will be suppliers. THAT is one of the main sources of fighting between rival gangs. Drug money.

There is no place in Omaha - or any other city - that is completely free of any problems.

I agree, just because it's West Omaha doesn't mean it's somehow off-limits to these type of things.
