I am in need of a good stylist for hair cuts. I'd prefer not to go to a supercuts or some low end chain that hires kids right out of cosmetology school. My haircuts are simple, so I don't want to spend more than $15-$20. Suggestions?

Goldenwest & Warner, same center as Big Lots (formerly Alpha Beta).

I haven't been there in years, so they may be gone by now. But they were a traditional barber shop and charged reasonable prices.

First step is to find out where the simple men hang out.

bazinga!

I was thinking about trying out one of the barbershops, but I am a younger guy and I don't think my haircut is considered traditional. Its simple enough though. I might have to just call around.

Bring a picture of what you want the end product to be like.

(PS:Hey: ferretkona: how's it going? Keeping' them little "weasels" happy I hope? If you spread sardine oil on a guy's head, those little cuties could probably give someone a haircut "fur free"!)

It's called Sweeney's and its still there.

OP - highly reccomended. Try to get one of the asian ladies as the guy there tends to cut it a bit short. Great haircuts reasonable prices. I still drive all the way from Irvine to this place.

Totally understand. The big chains seem to hire people with very little experience. Great hair cuts start with experienced barbers. A great Huntington Beach barber where ALL the barbers have over 20 years experience is Hair Safari at 5931 Warner Ave (at Springdale). Their site: Hair Safari | Hair Safari – Huntington Beach Barber Shop Give them a try!

It looks like Floyd's is opening up a location in Costa Mesa (Floyd's 99 Barbershop - CA Costa Mesa - Harbor Blvd. COMING SOON). I've been going to a few of their LA locations for years and have never had a bad cut. you also get a nice little massage after they finish with your hair. The cost is about $20 for a normal cut.

Ok bro
On the corner of Magnolia and Warner ( eastbound on warner just past magnolia) there is a dunkin donughts on the right side of the street in that shopping center. Right next to that donughts shop there is a barber shop. It's called The Barbers. Pull in and either go to the guy in the first chair (Jason) or the old guy in second chair (Phil). Costs $9 and its a men's barber shop not a salon. I've been going there since I was 18
