Of all of the freeway routes in and out of OC, this is the one most disliked, and avoid taking it if at all possible. Jams, and of course crashes, occur around the clock. Traffic tends to build up very early, both morning and afternoon. Have been down to 20-25 mph at 5 AM while trying to get away early on the start of a trip. One real bad spot is at Firestone Blvd. Traffic can be wide open up to that point, and then suddenly everything at this juncture up ahead is at a dead stop, and drivers are on the brakes, hard.

I'm not surprised at all 2 of the 10 are in Garden Grove.. (though 3 of the 10 are in Santa Ana, their population easily dwarfs GG's.)

If you think the roads in CA are so deadly and dangerous you should try driving in the Northeast (NJ/NY/Philly etc.). It'll make CA seem like a piece of cake.

I don't know the accident rate there, but eastbound on the 91 where it intersects the 55 is a fatality waiting to happen.
