I am going to a wedding in Santa barbara this weekend and rather than fly into LA i was considering flying into orange county because it is a little cheaper and more flexible. I plan on renting a car anyway so I should be fine right? I've heard the OC airport is fine and a little less crowded as well.

I hope it's worth an extra hour in bumper to bumper traffic. It's a smaller and easier airport to get in and out of I guess, but it's in the opposite direction of where you're going.

When is the traffic bad usually? I can drive up there anytime so I can probably avoid most of it if i want.

If you are going to Santa Barbara you prolly don't wanna go to SNA. It's already a 3-hour drive from LA to Santa Barbara. This would add another 45 to 60 minutes to that drive.

But I do agree that LAX SUX! You might look into Burbank as an option...

Why not fly to Santa Barbara? I once recommended BUR too thinking it was cheaper then I checked the prices to Santa Barbara and noticed it was the same as LAX. Check the prices. Don't assume Santa Barbara is more expensive, but if it is, BUR is the next most convenient choice (unless Oxnard has something going).

Normally just on days of the week ending in "y" and when the sun's up, or down.
