I'm liking what I have heard about Rancho Santa Margarita, and I've been there a few times and I loved it.

I'm a single mom with two kids coming from a small town in South Jersey where I"m 'different' because virtually everybody is married. Will I stick out or will nobody really care and it won't matter?

I'd love at some point to meet someone to date, but that is really low on my priority list so not looking for a 'singles scene.' However I do wonder if my kids will get to know other kids with single parents.

Thanks.

This site, City-Data has statistics on married, singles, single headed households, etc.
Also try Moderator cut: link removed, linking to competitor sites is not allowed to compare to your old zip code.

Will you stick out? We can write whatever you want to read.

More importantly, do you have a job lined up? Where is it?

Trust me you will fit in fine. Orange County is not some uber conservative southern town where everyone pretends they are happily married behind their white picket fence. In fact it almost seems all the rage nowadays to divorce your husband in your late 30s to early 40s and go party like it's 1999. There are plenty of single moms in the OC. And divorcees.

Only if you're unlucky enough to get the judgmental Ãœber-Christian/Muslim type as a neighbor. But, you can always do like I do and tell them to take a flying f at a rolling doughnut.

You won't even be judged if your kids are an admixture of races or if you date/marry other races or same sex. (unless you move in around some of those pesky judgmental religious types mentioned above)

I'm pretty sure the Uber Muslim types are lying low nowadays. If they screw with you you just drop the fact that your brother in law works in Homeland Security.
