Default closer to cerritos

hey guys!

i've got a new job in cerritos and i need to find an apartment to rent that's closer than my current area (marina del rey).

what areas do you recommend for a single girl in her 30s with a ceiling of 1200/mo rent and max 20-30 min commute. i'd like to be close to all the usual stuff, groceries, pharmacy, etc.

i've been looking in some areas like long beach, fullerton....but i have no idea where to go.

thanks,

Scoshe

either of those locations would be a good option. however, fullerton might be a bit too much of a college vibe for you, so maybe check out belmont shore. i live in mdr as well and my wife used to live in belmont shore and it was great. it's much more pedestrian friendly compared to mdr and cheaper to boot. if my job moved to cerritos, i'd move to belmont shore in a heartbeat. my wife used to pay $800 or so for a decent sized 1br about 5 years ago, so you should definitely still be able to find something in your price range. drive down there and have lunch on 2nd street when you have a chance and get a feel for the neighborhood, it's really nice.

Why not rent in Cerritos, Lakewood or Bellflower. Make that commute a 5 minute trip.

Lakewood might be a really good fit for you, particularly along Carson Street between Clark and Los Coyotes.
