Hi -
Does anyone have any information on Montessori schools they like/disklike in the Dana Point area, or S.OC? We have a toddler and I am contemplating going back to work FT. I would like to look into the option of a Montessori school to start our child in vs. daycare. Any insights on good schools or experiences? If not Montessori, any postitive feedback from school type settings would be helpful. Thank you!

Smile Dana Point Montessori

Hope this isn't too late...

I put my first daughter in at Dana Point Montessori on Del Obispo. She loved it. Admittedly, the school doesn't look like much, but the teaching was fabulous. The staff is so caring and loving, but it's so amazing how the montessori way of teaching works.

We came from another area where it was just a regular preschool and I was blown away by the difference in the montessori. I never thought I could afford a montessori, but DPM was very reasonably priced. I had to take my daughter out to put her in a preschool to accommodate my other daughter, who was too young to be in a montessori. I was so sad but as a working mom, it was going to be too hard to make it to two different locations. This year, I have to go to two different locations, but I found a new job to give more flexibility.

Even though my oldest daughter didn't get the benefit of the Montessori the last year, the lessons they taught her have carried into kindergarten. She's so smart and everyone comments on what a quick study she is.

I cannot wait until my youngest daughter is old enough to go to DPM! Good luck with your decision, whatever you decide.
