I just moved my family from Chicago to Dana Point CA and have a 10 year old son with autism (diagnosed with PDD-NOS). He is enrolled in a public school and I am not a big fan of the support that he is receiving to date and am looking to move to a better school district possibly in laguna beach but want to hear some advice from others.

Also I am looking for suggestions on the best wellness center(s) within driving distance of Dana Point specializing in holistic medicine that offer alternative therapies like biofeedback, hormonal balancing, therapeutic nutrition and EAV testing. I am seeking some direction please.......

Is Dana Point part of the Capistrano Unified School District? We live in Aliso Viejo, and we've been really, really pleased with the services they have offered our autistic son.

Unfortunately the only experience I have with the Laguna Beach school district is through my nephew who attended K-5th grade at El Morro, but didn't have any special needs.

My son was just recently diagnosed, so I'm still learning the ropes, so to speak. Good luck!

V. =)

My son just turned 3 a week ago, and starts special ed preschool thru IUSD on the 25th. They are giving us more than we hoped for by ways of hours weekly. Plus, I love that it is a year round school, so no worries about what to do during long breaks. They seem to have thought of everything. A PhD in Education I know swears by IUSD for elementary education on ASD. As for the holistic area, I have taken my son to a DAN doctor, but was not that impressed. I am investigating the holistic approach, and will let you know if I find anything here.
