Why are tiny, 100 year old, rundown houses with no parking so popular in some cities?

Don't you mean "ticky-tacky?" ::breaks out the guitar::

(actually that was a very requested song back in my folk singer days!)

Conspicuous consumption, no doubt making up for small reproductive organs.

They are'nt. Land is too expensive here. When Mc Mansions were hot the same $600-750k that got you a 5BR 6 Bath 3500+ Sq ft Mc mansion in a desirble Dallas or Atlanta suburb bought you a 1300 ft starter or maybe a 1600 sq ft townhome in Irvine. What most of america would consider a "Mc Manison" is $2MM+ in OC, and that group is only a small portion of the housing stock - Regardless of what you see on "Real Housewives".

The houses are on RHOC aren't even that spectacular. They are really nice, but are not the equivalent of what they have in ATL or Jersey. Housing is just so expensive in OC. Anyway, I actually like the cookie cutter style of Coto De Caza.

Contrary to popular belief, half the Beverly Hills housewives don't even live in BH, they live on the LA side of the Hills in Sherman Oaks, which decreases housing costs.
