Moving to Orange County, need apartment advice please
Just wondering if anyone can help point me in the right direction in regards to apartment hunting. I'd like to stick around 1200 with a max of 1600. I'll be working in Long Beach so the shorter the commute the better. Thanks

Where in Long Beach? Its a big city. 1 bedroom apartments are available everywhere for under $1600. 2 bedrooms can be found for that, but you'll have to hunt a little. For OC locations, the farther up the 405, the better for the commute. Los Alamitos, Cypress, NW Huntington Beach, and far west Westminster, are all fine and close.

Depends on your tolerance for a horrible commute. I would not do Laguna Beach to LB, but for some it might be okay.

It would be for me. Laguna Beach is a tough place to commute to/from because access is so limited.

Laguna -> LB is 40-60 minutes on the 405 in rush hour and it will take you 15-25 minutes just to get to the freeway from Laguna itself. You could take the toll road and save 10-15 minutes, but you're looking at $8-ish a day in tolls.

Try looking in Seal Beach. The village is very nice, has a great casual vibe, is slightly off the beaten path and very close to Long Beach. I would also consider the Belmont Shore Neighborhood in Long Beach.
