Young Professional Seeks Good Room in OC (http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/sha/2426165240.html - broken link)

I am taking the Metrolink from SD and am looking for a decent room. Offering $600/month. San Diego is making me unhappy and I own ocpro.com and want to do some tech freelance, plus wow employers with my uber-cool ten year old domain name on the resume. OC seems like a really chill place to live with a reduced unemployment rate (according to Google Public Data) amongst the lowest in California, so getting a good job shouldn't be a problem. Here in San Diego it's really crowded, it stinks. I'm unhappy and want to go.

So advice I'm seeking - Areas to avoid, areas to seek, areas to seek that fit the '$600/month' budget for a single bedroom, shared bath or preferred private bath, also if you are renting a room, get in touch with me at roomwanted at ocpro.com. I need a place close to bus lines, fresh/easy, henry's, trader joes, some sort of sustainable non-garbage non-gmo food if at all possible. I'll take what I can get FOR NOW to get my foot in the door while I hop from place to place 30 days to 30 days and find happiness I am putting my next month's rent in a money order ($600) then just taking all the stuff I own in a box and lugging it down there, even if I sleep outside for a few nights while I find a good room, the rent will be secure and I'l have better opportunity.

There used to be some cheap rooming houses in Santa Ana. I'm not sure if they still exist. There's lots of places if you happen to be a recovering addict. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much for anyone else.
