Are banjo lessons mandatory once you relocate to the Bible Belt? I keep forgetting to ask Nita that question as well.

According to my fellow Northern Virginians they're seeing a huge influx of Californians coming here, probably because this is where the available jobs are.

Parts of Moussouri are beautiful. I really love that campground with the cave that Jesse James or someone hid out in. Beautiful place. The Ozarks are really pretty too.

You should welcome Californicators. They will thnk it is ok if you marry your sister (or your T.V., or your dog, or anything that you want. - Its all good). Yes, you will have to put up with trader joes and a starbucks on every corner. Sears will go out of business, but it is worth it.

Most of y'all don't take kindly to the dentist, either, but I don't think the rest of us are gonna start canceling our appointments, if you catch my drift.

I kid. I think MO is an awesome state.

No, but they are recommended. You can substitute whisky jugs or washboards. Your choice!

Austin on the other hand kicks a$$ and is a good CA substitute.
I know people who have left California and regretted it. They wound up in places with four seasons, skeeters, and no AYCE Korean BBQ, and found they traded down. Also, once you've left the state, it's a ***** to move back, housing-prices wise.

And many wouldn't move back if you gave them a house here free and clear. I've never seen any hard numbers on the percentage of people who come back vs not.

Missouri is a hell hole. Lived there for two years, was able to buy a home on a lake, but absolutely hated the place and moved back. Glad to be out of there. I don't care how cheap it is to live there.

There is a very clear anti-california mindset there. The place is not friendly to Transplants.
Many old timers think that Trader Joes is were granola eating, birkenstock-wearing hippies will start the Californification of Missouri. Really.

I actually did take some banjo lessons (I like Irish and blue grass music)

There is a reason why the cost of living is higher in here in CA - its worth it.
