Not everyone knows how to search for things like blood plasma or temporary labor on a computer, so here's how I found a plasma center.

1.Get into Google Maps.

2. Use different search terms until you get the result you want. In my case, I looked first for

"blood plasma" NEAR Orange County.

The word NEAR is how you search a city for things. Note the quotation marks to search for a phrase. It didn't work because it gave me a list of places where people could donate blood, instead of getting money for it.

3. Refine the search. I then looked for

"blood plasma" cash NEAR orange county.

The cash turned up the places where cash was offered for plasma. So among other results I got:

Pyramid Biological Corporation
785 North La Cadena Drive, Colton, CA
(909) 422-1370 ‎
plasma donation centers · yellow pages blood
"Wed 07:00am-03:30pm; Thu 07:00am-06:30pm; Fri-Sat: 07:00am-03:30pm. Plasma & Hepatitis B, Donors Urgently Needed, $$ Cash Paid!! $$, Be A Lifesaver!"

During college a couple of colleagues were dumpster diving for food behind grocery stores, getting the day old stuff. Also bakeries or coffee shops/Starbucks, you can go there and ask for any old stuff. Just a few things you can keep in the back of your mind while you get a break.

Anyway I had to move to an undesirable part of the state for a job, it pays and it's just a stepping stone for me so, just saying sometimes you gotta suck it up and just do it, which isn't to say you've haven't exhausted all options. Like others have suggested, perhaps you can get a helping hand from friends or family.

Good luck.

First of all, I have have my doubts about your post and overall I don't believe you.

So I assume you don't have a car or any type of transportation, as that would be my suggestion for temporary living.

Your Roomie is booting you out for not paying your rent share and eating all his/their food?

Are you from Orange County originally? How long have you lived in California? Did you blow all your money on someone? or just blow as you made it randomly. Now would be a good time to "just show up" at mom and dads door or just sleep in their back yard and make em surprise breakfast.

You have tried graveyard shifts, Major Hotels, mom n pop motels/front desk.., jack in the box, mcdonalds, cvs, grocery stores etc.? for 2 months with no luck. Wow. That's interesting. You have gone onto craigslist under food bev/hospitality or retail? All I see are ads for help wanted. You have checked job options in other areas as well. San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside, El cajon, etc. its not like you were a high roller to begin with at retail/$12.00 hr.

I don't like to see another individual come upon tough times, but I dont think we know the full story.

If this is a true post, I will give you a job, I doubt the validity of the OP

C'mon guys ....... ANY post in any internet forum could be bogus, but let's not assume it is.

I saw nothing that couldn't be true in the OP. This is plainly a young person working in retail who probably lived for the moment like most of us did when young. Young people need the advice of more experienced people, not bashing.

It's kind of like those threads about someone feeling like suicide and wanting some help ...... invariably some Tea Potty member will show up and be an a-hole, assuming it isn't true, or saying the person just needs to "take personal responsibility". Yeah, I know a TP when I see one.

Call 211. I'm sure the United Way deals with this all the time. I'm not sure of the outcomes, but that's probably your best bet besides trying to scope out secluded spaces to sleep. They may must refer you to a shelter, though.

What's that word that starts with a T and derails threads?

Try 211 and see if there's a St. Vincent de Paul Society, drop in center (to avoid paying for a place to shower) and Catholic Charities around to help with some stuff.
