Default Are there any Aldi type stores in the OC?

Since the furthest Aldi has expanded is Texas, are there any stores in the OC similar to Aldi? I'm familiar with Smart & Final. Thanks!

None come to mind, but Fresh & Easy has some pretty good prices. They are a smaller chain, and we don't have any here in Illinois. I miss that store.

Stater brothers is not like Aldi, but they have better prices than traditional big chain grocers and no frills.

Trader Joe[s and Aldis are owned by the same company.
That being said, Aldis is kind of like a combination of the Dollar Store Food Section and Fresh and Easy.

I like Stater Bros. and Trader Joe's, just wish Aldi would expand a little quicker but I can't blame 'em with the economic climate. I remember back in the 70s and 80s when SoCal had a lot more grocery chains compared to Chicago's choices of basically "da Jewels", that's Chicago-ese for Jewel, or Dominick's.
