Yes, OC is a racist county, probably the most racist county in all of California. It is notoriously republican, white and materialistic.
I would agree that OC is racist - but honestly, until you live in Placer County near Sacramento you have no idea what West Coast racism is. I vote Placer County to be the most racist in California.

I'm confused. Who are you calling racists? Is it the Mexicans, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Philipino, Indian, Pakistani, Persian, Japanese, or the Caucasians?
Wow, for such a racist county, they seem to have a Latina Congresswoman and numerous Asians in local civic positions.
Surprising the Mexicans, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Philipino, Indian, Pakistani, Persian and the Japanese were all able to assimilate and prosper in such a racist and expense county. Dem white people!!!
Yes, OC is no place but for the whites (and the Mexicans, Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Philipino. Pakistani, Persian, etc)
BTW, someone mentioned Huntington Beach: Culver City & Venice have similiar reps & how come no one cries LA of being a white power city?

Theres really nothing like racism until you've lived and stayed in europe, where the local natives uses degrading racial words to try and put you in your place, as much as you may want to argue with them, in the end your more or less just pissing in the wind, because no matter how much you wanna b!@tch, its ALWAYS going to be a white mans world (euroland).
Over here in the states is a somewhat different story, and so for all you whiners (and i dont mean this as a dig at you) but really, you guys have it easy here and if it bothers you so much whereby people are making you angry then by all means voice up and do something about it.
A bit unfair in generalizing when clearly not all people in OC are racist and like someone has said, this is not like living in alabama like in the olden days, you have the right to free speech, so why dont you use it and perhaps help bring about a change if its bothersome to some of you.
Also by going elsewhere isnt going to solve anything on that basis alone, if thats your only or sole reason then im afraid your just running away.
You do that, and you'll be forever runing.

I split time between OC and the Bay Area, I can say unequivalently that the white people in OC are far more race conscious than the Bay Area, especially along the beach cities in OC.
In OC I hear comments about mexicans, black and asians coming from white peoples mouths almost daily, mixed race couples along these communities are often gawked at for no reason.
Of course cities like Orange, Mission Viejo, RSM seem to be much less a problem.
I guess coming from the Bay Area, LA or NYC...OC seems very far behind when it comes to racial consciousness.

White Man's World?. Euroland?. What are you smoking?.
The only true "white mans' world" is the USA. NO OTHER country in the world has the racial issues or problems that the US has. In fact the US has a very specific concept of what really being 'white' means. So in the US, for example, if you are white but Hispanic, you are expected to check the "Hispanic" box (NOT Caucasian) in almost all Federal government & census forms. It's DEFINITELY an ANGLO loving environment. Just look at who occupies the true positions of power here.
Also you're comparing apples & oranges, because europeans have no equivalent concept of themselves as being a 'melting pot' of cultures nor claim to be one as we do in the States. There is in fact almost no racial conflict in Europe, because what they actually have are nationalistic & ethnic problems. It's very different & specific form of 'racism'.
Every european nation (and even subgroups within each nation) are FIERCELY independant and EXTREMELY proud of their ethnic national origins.
In the US on the other hand we have this concept that ANYONE who comes here automatically becomes an "American'. Regardless of race, religion & origin. That doesn't wash in Europe.
Europeans will ALWAYS consider someone to be a foreigner if they are not a native of their country (or even area/region). So if you're black in France -for example- you'll be considered a true frenchman only if you were born there and speak French fluently, and share the same customs and beliefs as the rest. If that's the case, no problem. If you're a black person from anywhere else, you'll be considered a f@cking FOREIGNER forever. Same goes for whites too actually.
In Italy, if you're black you'll ALWAYS be considered a foreigner because Italy has never had an indigenous black population nor significant black colonies like France has.
Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany etc ...need I say more?.
It's NOT a 'race problem' per se, it's more of a "get the hell outta my country you filthy foreigner!"-type thing. Which is probably what you experienced. If you moved to Italy you'd be dubbed "il americano' for the rest of your life. Likewise in Spain, Portugal etc etc etc.
