I am sorry things arent going a little better for you, although I am glad you like it here, and the weather! Yes! I have been living in Orange County for about 10 years now. For me, I feel like people are not likely to strike up conversation, everyone is in a hurry and so busy doing their own thing. But when I make an attempt to chat I usually find people receptive to it. It probably also depends on where you are when you try to chat. Such as, I usually find people are more friendly at the park when we are both there with our children. Although I have found people less friendly or indifferent in service positions and they seem surprised that I want to chat in the checkout line. Good luck! (I am possibly moving out of state in the next month and I am curious about this same thing and how people are going to react to me)
