Where do i move? lol
I've been wanting to move to california my entire life and now that i can finally try and do it, Im lost and overwhelmed. Although I love and loved manhattan ny for 26 years its time to move. My son lives in Arizona so its closer and i love to surf but im tired of taking that almost 2hr packed nyc train ride to the beach with a big board.
California is huge! lets forget about employment for now. Ive only been to Cali a few times and almost the same places everytime. Downtown LA, Alhambra wich i loved, huntington beach wich i super loved. Im looking for a 1 bedroom apartment a short drive from the beach near the $1,000 range.
Somewere somewhat safe lol I may be surrounded by gangs here in Nyc but atleast i was born and raised here and i am a familiar face to them.
Renting a room is not an option because my long time gf is coming with me.
Just writing all this is making me homesick wish is why i never made the move. But NYC is getting old and tiring. I love it in the summer times but the winter is horrible.
Thanks Guys

Let's give this question a shot in the Orange County Forum, you might get better insights in a specific area as opposed to the general CA forum.

I love NYC, went there all the time. Still go when I can but not as much nowadays. You'll find OC weather is very relaxing and sunny throughout the year. Big drawback is you will need a car so add another $500-700/month. Also very kickback lifestyle vs. rat race in THE CITY. Good luck and enjoy!
