Lovely Laguna Niguel. Great temperatures and central to both inland and coastal South OC.
This is a lovely little neighborhood in Laguna Niguel at the corner of Aliso Creek and La Paz with charming tutor track homes.

Sort of a Laguna Niguel landmark, "The Ziggurat" (really called The Chet Holifield Federal Government Building) is a federal building in Laguna Niguel home to millions of microfilms as documents of land agreements between American and the original Indian Tribes of the southwest United States. It is also home to the Western Regional Department of Homeland Security and the California Service Center of the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services.

Hey Missionhome ~ Thanks for the great shots of the area. I really enjoy seeing the picturess and I know it takes time to go out and get them. It looks like a very well kept up area. Are most of the neighborhoods well maintained? And a question - in one of the photo's of a gray house there is a really huge tree trunk. Do you know what kind of tree that is? It is so huge, it must be pretty old but I love the unusual trunk formation.
My daughter has a very old huge oak tree behind her house it makes the most awesom pictures because of the size and the texture of the truck with cracks and layers.
I am going to do some research on your area and neighborhoods. Thanks again.

I'm not really sure what type of tree that is. It is interesting for photos and such, but looks like a nightmare for maintenance, cracks, sprinkler problems, etc... in the yard. I love the trunk though, it is really pretty. I'm inclined to think it is a ficus tree just because the roots are so large and a decent amount of the older homes have ficus trees, but I'm not 100% sure.
As regards to neighborhood cleanliness, most are very very clean. In few of the older neighborhoods you will find a house with chipped paint, over grown lawn, cracked driveway, etc.... but the majority of the homes are kept very clean and tidy. Many older homes have been renovated and look really nice and the newer neighborhoods, well, they look new of course.
This google map shows the city limits for when you are looking at the area. The blue boxes in MV and the red was to box in the city of Lake Forest: http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?clien...3,0.30899&z=12

Ficus was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw that tree.... but I'm certainly no expert.

Hey you guys - the leaves have fallen and we got our first snow flurries and 32 degree temp's. I could sure use some shots of OC in November. It is my escape when I come in out of the cold. Especially some when Christmas decorations go up. Southern California always really did up the decorations. Probably to get the Christmas spirit since you don't have the snow - but I was really excited the one Christmas we didn't have snow on the ground. Not having to wear the heavy boots and freeze when you are getting gas. Snow Sucks. Its only pretty if you are inside baking cookies. And putting up Christmas lights when your hands are freezing isn't something I look forward to.
