Default Bars in OC for a girl to avoid?

Hi all,

I'm 26 and just moved here from Chicago. Live in Newport Beach and came here for a job offer.

Am wondering if you guys could give me a "head's up" on which bars to avoid in the OC?

Like.....which bars are the douchebag bars in the OC that a girl should avoid?

thanks!

All of 'em to be frank. Honestly, that's who goes to bars these days. D-bags who think they are, "cool", losers and drunks. Any person worth meeting doesn't go to those places.

Try and go to places where the bar isn't the main thing going on in the place. You'll want to go to places where they have dancing, places that you can actually sit down and eat, and maybe games like pool or something.

All of the places that the above listed are high-pressure club scene or dive bars.

I'm not an expert on the OC bar scene, but I can tell you that there are no bars within the confines of Orange County, CA where you would have any reason whatsoever for worrying about your own personal safety ... unless of course you actually eat any of the appetizers they serve in some of those places.

Most everywhere has a reliable bouncer ..or three, and if not OC law enforcement is among the best in the nation. People out in public here know this and don't push the limits of bad behaviour as much as they do in other parts of the country. Some folks think that OC is kind of anal in that sense, yet it's precisly thanks to this pro law enforcement conservative mentality that OC is such a desirable place to live.

So go party hardy girl!

Even in Santa Ana and Garden Grove?

Never been in Huntington Beach much and specifically its Bro-oriented nightlife?

Not to mention I highly doubt there's never any trouble in Santa Ana bars.

Tell that to Kelly Thomas' family and friends.

If she's into Rancheras, or speaks Tiếng Việt ..why not? Otherwise I doubt she'd even bother visiting those areas, right?

Tell them what? That you can't tell the difference between a 26 year old girl who's asking about partying safely vs a deranged homeless man's fatal confrontation with rogue cops?

I think they probably have enough on their plate already...

You said every bar in OC is safe. I doubt every Santa Ana bar is safe.

Obviously not everyone is happy with Orange County law enforcement agencies being so overzealous and fond of excessive use of force, and not everybody is happy with OC prosecutors' and judges' traditional leniency regarding violence committed by police. OC law enforcement as you admit has a tradition of being severe and tolerating rogue cops, and the OC justice system traditionally has condoned it. Not everyone thinks this is a good thing.

For a 26 year old female, most every bar in OC probably is safe. Very safe. For a 26 year old male it's a different story. A male in his 20's or early 30's is much more likely to have problems anywhere he goes. Statistical fact.

I'm certainly not happy with Orange County law enforcement agencies being so overzealous and fond of excessive use of force nor am I pleased with OC prosecutors' and judges' traditional leniency regarding violence committed by police. If I had the power I would punish them all severely by automatically doubling the sentence of any law enforcement officer or public official found guilty of committing a crime. I would fire all tainted prosecutors & judges. Hell I'd even bring back public hangings just for the occasion too!

But protecting a 26 year old girl bent on partying all night is still a mission that OC law enforcement is quite capable of handling efficiently.

For now at least..
