OR

Does car culture mean, HAVING to drive a nice car, and being immediately judged by your car?

In NYC, cars are viewed as appliances (and people go on about their Miele dishwashers!)....so If I saw a guy waxing his Whirlpool....yes that would be a "Con" of NYC
The latter. It's an epidemic in SoCal, I have witnessed Lambo's, Ferrari's, Lotus..etc. sitting outside efficiency apartments in NB ....."gotta represent".

Also it's the people that drive these cars...they are total douchebags. Burning rubber around corners in residential area's, racing down Jamboree.

That Blows!

Those are rich punks, lease-babies making $3500/mo payments... and pre-repo rides.

I hear ya; i did see some of that around Pebble Beach show...but, that would be annoying.

Real Car Guys treat their rides with respect and drive so.

Difference in definition. In So Cal, "car culture" means everybody drives everywhere with the result being slow traffic.
