Hi
How easy or difficult is it to find a software developer (mid-senior level) job (in .NET technology) in the Irvine area? I have around 7 yrs of experience in .NET. Which city has the highest number of IT jobs in Orange county? Also what would be the average salary for a mid-senior level developer in OC? Any inputs would be great.
Thanks

IT developer jobs are highly competitive in Irvine and very seldom do they hire outside of the local area.

Thanks. I might be moving to Irvine so, wanted to get an idea abt the IT job mkt there. I was getting 85K in my last job here in Atlanta, which is equivalent to 120K in Irvine(based on cost of living calculator on CNNMoney). So looks like the salaries are not as high as in Atlanta. Any views??

Irvine definitely. As far as the .Net market, I'm sure it's out there. My company is still stuck on VB6

Don't expect to make more money just because you're moving to Cali. I've had a few offers that way and, while they were better than what I currently make, they didn't make up for the difference in living costs. Check out Empower Software in Newport Beach, if they're still hiring you might be able to pull 100k.
