I say other: Fullerton. Although it may not be as new, manicured, or fancy as the rest of the cities, it has a lot of character, plenty of nice neighborhoods, a central location, and lots of entertainment options.

I voted "Other", as well. Since "nice" is a subjective term and wasn't defined for this poll, I selected Other since HB/FV wasn't an option. While HB isn't as glitzy as other parts of OC, it's a perfect mesh of almost everything I look for in a town (glitz not being on that list - been there, done that ), so HB/FV is "nice" to me.

I really like Orange Park Acres. It has a slightly rural feeling with bigger lots, horses, and even some gravel roads, but its not out in the middle of nowhere.

By the way, La Habra Heights is in LA County, while the city of La Habra is in Orange County.

+1 If I could pick more than one, this would be on my list, too.

I also voted "other". While I know it's technically a part of Newport Beach, Corona Del Mar always stood alone and separate in my mind as the nicest part of the county during the years I lived in Newport Beach off-and-on from 1951 to 1974. Love the older homes in CDM and the beaches, shops, restaurants, etc. Used to love going to the movie theater there as well.

I'd have to ask "nicest for what?" I love many areas of OC for different reasons. The area I choose to live in is, obviously, the area I think is nicest for living. But it's not where I'd send a friend who was visiting for the first time and wants to have fun. Even the places I personally like hanging out at aren't the same as the ones I like living in, because I have different priorities for those things (e.g. lots of things to do vs. quietness for sleeping, ease of parking etc.).

You're right. That's what I was thinking, but didn't convey.

I think HB/FV is nice for living right now (later in life I'll likely want something more slow paced) for countless reasons (the dog beach, parks, farmers' market, surf and sun, reasonable housing, nearly perfect weather, unpretentious & laid back atmosphere, proximity to jobs, quietness, proximity to my favorite stores [read: TJ's, WF, etc ], proximity to places I like to frequent for a weekend day trip but wouldn't be realistic to live in, etc).

As for places in OC I think are nice to visit (but wouldn't want to live in right now due to lack of things I need in day-to-day life like an awesome dog park and a reasonable commute), well, that's an entirely other list.
