What are the best areas in Garden Grove? By best, I mean relatively safe and things to do.

The only decent part is west of Knott.

Most of Garden Grove is relatively safe but there's not that much to do. So to answer your question, none of the areas.

Thanks for the information. I was just curious because I'm potentially looking to move there since prices around Irvine are so high.

This is not true at all. While West Garden Grove is often though of as the nicest part of the city, there are plenty of neighborhoods that are also nice and not in that part of the city.

To help the OP, maybe you could briefly list those areas.

Add supporting videos, or photos, if possible; even if it means that some rigid, narrow-minded and otherwise mentally-challenged readers will become even more unhinged and have to call their docs for new scripts.

Don't have supporting videos, but Google earth here is your friend.

Beside the area west of Knott (zip code 92845), there is Lampson Avenue and the neighborhoods surrounding that (just north of Garden Grove Blvd). Lampson starts at the east end of the city close to the Block (now the Outlets) and just keeps going all the way through. Of course, the area between Knott and the western border is very nice but between Magnolia and Euclid are really nice streets as well (think long, low ranch style homes on large lots.) Between Harbor and the Block is not so great but not really that bad.

Generally, farther north and farther west is better, so the 92840, 92841 and 92845 will be your zip codes. 92843 and 92844 are smaller homes on smaller lots and are south of Garden Grove Blvd.

I know there is a small stretch of Lampson that is in the city of Stanton but not recalling that the neighborhood there changes too much because of that.

Thanks for the additional information So far I've been looking between Target off Chapman and UCI Medical Center. When driving through there it didn't seem bad but I didn't stay long enough to see the whole area. I did go from that area all the way through the interior of GG and ended up at the 405. I'd say the interior part looked pretty run down in spots..

Generally speaking, 92845 is the best part and 92843 is the worst. I've lived in 92844 before and it's pretty safe (and boring).. unless you're into these. Even then, there's not a huge difference in safety between these two areas.

The Koreatown area also seems pretty nice (along Garden Grove Blvd.)
