How do these 3 steakhouses compare? In terms of cost, quality, dining experience and value.

This is a tough comparison. Outback and Black Angus are way lower on the totem pole than Mastro's. Mastro's is more in line with Ruth Chris, or Flemings.

If you're looking for cheap, I guess Outback isn't bad. But if you're looking for a good dining experience with quality, I'd say Flemings.

If you're not opposed to LA County, 555 East in Long Beach beats ALL of them.

If money is an issue, go to black angus. If not go to Mastro's. Just watch ordering drinks, that gets me everytime. No wonder they dont put drink prices on the menues

Where would you go to get the best deal on a good porterhouse steak?

555 East. Cheaper than Flemings, same quality.

If you really need to save some pennies, then just go to Norm's, or cook it yourself.

Seeing Mastro's in the same list as Outback or Angus is pretty laughable. Was this post meant to be funny? Mastro's is a high-end steakhouse along the lines of Ruth's Chris, Morton's, Flemings... to name a few. I personally like Outback, but it's not high end. Never been to a Black Angus.

Outback does a pretty good steak for the price. Never had Mastros or Angus.

The best steak I've had recently was a New York cut at The Ranch in Anaheim but that's more along with the prices you'd find at Mastros I'd imagine.

If you're looking to save some money, go to Outback...the quality of the steak is almost exactly the same as you will get at Mastros. In fact, it is the same steak that you would eat at it's parent company Flemings. I have been to Black Angus and I felt like the steaks were the same quality as Outback...just 2x more expensive.

Neither Black Angus or Outback are really steakhouses. They are corporation type chain restaurants with steaks on the menu
If you're in Orange County try Trabuco Oaks steakhouse. I strongly suggest reservations
