What's Huntington Beach like? Anyone live there?

I know it's Orange County, not L.A.

My wife and I lived there in '98-99 and had a positive experience. We lived a few miles from the beach, so we got nice breezes in the summer. Ethnically, there's a decent mixture of people. It's in Orange County, but it's on the Northern part, very near the border of LA County, in case you wanted to live in HB and work in LA. There's a community college (Golden West College) in HB, and it's very near CSU Long Beach. I'd recommend HB to you.

What do you want to know about HB? It's $$ to buy or rent. Where will you be working? Ok schools, but depends on what side of town.

Downtown is nuts in the summer.

Thanks for the replies

Just curious what it's like there in general.

Not really worried about the housing costs...I know it's 'expensive'.

Hubby is an engineer with 12 years experience. I have a degree too along with more education in another area and I also have my own business.

We enjoy recreational things and being by the ocean, but know we'll have to sacrifice certain things to get it, meaning a big house and big cars, but our priorities are different...We don't have kids, etc. We are still fairly young so we have flexibility
