Hello all,

I'm a PhD student at UCI and due to some administrative mishaps I am wait-listed for graduate housing at UCI. I have less than 2 weeks to move out of my current apartment and find temporary housing until I get a new housing assignment.

I'm looking for a furnished studio or 1 bedroom apartment for 2-3 weeks.
My budget is around 1500.

I've tried the IAC, but they have a minimum of 30 days stay at around 110 per day which is way out of my budget.

I'd be willing to live in any of the surrounding areas: tustin, mission viejo, etc. Most of my belongings will be in storage until I get a housing assignment at UCI.

2-3 weeks is tough. If you have a car, I'm thinking you gut it out at a motel in Riverside for a few weeks. You can probably find something respectable for $60-70 per night.

At this writing, you might be able to stay at LaQuinta Inn John Wayne Orange County Airport in Costa Mesa for 22 days @ $1928, or for 22 days at Travelodge Anaheim Buena Park for @ $1605. I know nothing of the quality of these places and they could be fleabag motels for all I know, but it might be worth checking them out.

La Quintas are decent hotels and the area around John Wayne is safe (if sterile). Plus, it's close to UCI. It would be a no brainier if I was in the OP's shoes.
