Have you ever thought of maybe integrating into American society, instead of just trying to find an Indian community? I've never really understood this mentality that Indians seem to have, of wanting to move to America, but wanting little to do with Americans or American culture.

I dated an Indian for 4 years. He's lived in the US for 15 years and I'm the only white American friend on his Facebook, and the only white American he's ever hung out with or invited into his home. The same can be said for my other 2 Indian friends... 10 years in the US for each of them and I'm literally their only American friend. I just don't get it.

Wow, I though we weren't supposed to judge other people by the color of their skin or their race. Has that changed?

Can you imagine the outcry if someone only wanted to live in a white community?

But that's what makes America and similar countries great--there are melting pots all over the country. It's not just Indians. Pick a country and you'll likely find them clustered together.

It's beautiful and also detrimental. Many do assimilate while others do not and depend on their native community for everything--medical, business, leisure, life.

Yes, it's important to learn the main language and culture of the country you are in and many do, but it's very comforting to know that there are people from your native land with whom you can share exotic (and sometimes stinky) food with, reminisce and laugh over native stories and jokes, and just some commonality.

To say that you want to live in a white community here in America is racist, only because it's the majority (I think?). There's white people everywhere and if that's not good enough and you want white-white, well, then there's clusters of that also in this country and that is racism.

YOu talking dot or feather? If feather, then go to Sycuan in SD, or Soboba Casino in Hemet.
