Yes, in the context of Orange County and in this forum.

Thank you I figured but I wasn't 100% sure is there somewhere I can figure out what is South Orange and what isn't?

So, even if you get a SFR, you might do well to add a loft for maybe $20-$30K (I'm guessing here).

Also, there are tons of parks and recreational facilities in this general area, so you and your kids (both two-legged and four- legged) should be just fine.

South County is basically south of Irvine: Lake Forest, Laguna Woods (retirement city), Laguna Hills, Rancho Santa Margarita, Las Flores, Ladera Ranch, Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Beach, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente. It encompasses a very wide area.

South of the 55 would be a reasonable border.

And one note to add in here, not ALL communities have a pool. We live in Aliso and were considering moving a couple of years ago. We realized just how spoiled we were by having a great community with a pool and clubhouse (which is available for party rental and also has a gym with cardio and weight machines). If a community pool is something that your family would require, be careful when looking at the listings. Of course, those with the pool have higher HOA fees.

Great schools in Capistrano and Saddleback Valley districts.

Would if you rented first and then spent a lot of time getting a feel for the areas? That way wouldn't have to rush in buying or over-spending. Just a thought

I stand corrected. How about most Aliso communities have pools? This is available during the summer for "pool-challenged" AV residents (and for everyone else in Aliso):
