Kid with speech and development delays: best school district (insurance, to buy)

Hello All, I have a 4 years old girl, we r currently in irvine where she is getting help from early childhood learning center . She is not autistic but she is behind in language and behavior development, which put her on mild scale of Autism. We are thinking about moving to AV , MV or RSM because it's too expensive to buy in irvine. Can you people advice what school districts would be best for this early intervention education/development? Capistrano or Saddleback? Thanks a lot

I think you'd be relatively fine with any of those choices because I've recently heard from the parent of a child with special needs that the State of California is second to none with such support services.

I don't live in the areas you mentioned, so I can't comment on the school district. I just want to encourage you to find help for your daughter. Early intervention, as you know, is so important.

My 3.5 year-old son is getting speech therapy for his poor enunciation. His learning is not delayed, but I can hardly understand my little guy. He gets one-on-one speech therapy for free at a non-profit and also gets speech assistance through my school district. The 1:1 sessions are great, but it's too early to see results. The school district? It's at a special ed school and is more like preschool, so I don't see how it's helping his speech.

I just called my insurance and found out they will pay 80% of the cost of an in-network facility, so I'm going to look into getting him paid services.

If your school district is not adequate, you may want to see if your insurance covers this. One parent I talked to said Kaiser offered his son free speech and nutritional services, so the boy is now eating veggies. Wish my insurance did that.
