Good & Bad Things about Buena Park, CA
Dear All,
I am moving to Buena Park and commute to Compton for work. I choose this place since one of my friend from my same company staying there. Can you guys please tell me about good and bad things about Buena Park.
Thanks
M.Uday

I don't know if there's anything unusual about it, good or bad. There's a decent mall there. Just seems typical SoCal suburban to me. I may have driven through downtown before, but don't really remember. I think they've redeveloped it or something. It might be nicer than is typical for OC cities.

The only thing bad about Buena Park would be the really tourist-y atmosphere, otherwise it's really nice.

Well, there isn't a lot of good or bad about Buena Park. Buena Park towards La Mirada and Fullerton is the nicest part. It is fairly central. Should be a rather easy commute to Compton on the 91.

It depends what you're used to and where you're moving from.
There are decent areas in Buena Park and there are slumy crime ridden areas but not to the degree of areas of LA.
I'd give Buena Park a 5 out of 10 rating as far as OC cities.
It beats the heck out of Compton though.

Yeah not too much to say about it. pretty boring, quite area. You do get Knotts though. That's always fun. I lived in Cypress (A bordering city) Cypress is considered much nicer, but i think they are pretty similar.
Most areas are pretty nice with a few "iffy" sections. Like it was posted it's night and from Compton when it comes to the type of city it is. They have a new mall and again, Knotts...
That's all I think

Buena park is quite dirty, and it has a high Hispanic population.
The only mall there is old, run down, and sometimes gangs hang around.
Not too nice.
One nice thing is the amusement park has a ride that takes you to skyview - and on a clear day, it's gorgeous!

I'm not super familiar with Buena Park since I live in the southern portion of the county. Knott's and the entertainment places are there which is nice. I always notice a little more shaddy looking people at Knott's and didn't feel comfortable with my kids there when they were young. Still, the place draws people from all over so that doesn't make it a direct reflection of the city.
The city is older and a little run down in areas, but then some areas are also well maintained and have clean lawns, nice paint, etc.. The city has a larger hispanic population at 35% and the schools are not very good if you have kids. The mall is older, but still pleasant enough to shop at.

It really depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for a master planned community with mostly college educated working professionals, you probably won't like it. If you don't mind living in an older, suburban, working class community with a good number of Hispanics then it will be fine. I don't know the community like the back of my hand, but it seems for the most part like a clean, decent place, with hard working people. Of course there are a few rough neighborhoods that should be avoided.
