Wow, such hostility over a minor issue. Settle down Francis. Personal attacks are against the rules, reported.

Did the mean man on the internets hurt your fragile ego? Guess that Desperate Housewives life you live doesn't give you thick skin.

Tell us again.

The only area thats "walkable" is downtown near the traffic circle and thats a snoozefest unless you are into dirty old antiques Homes in AV and MV are much newer and nicer. Different strokes...
Ah, there's the area around what is now called the Village of Orange (Tustin/Lincoln to Tustin/Katella area, approximately). So many cool houses there that are not older than dirt (maybe some but mostly VERY well kept).

When you have kids, YOU make the excitement. Boring is in the head of the "experiencer".

I understand that the OP does not want dull suburbia but Orange County is full of things to do. And kids need to learn to entertain themselves at times as well. I remember a number of cool things my sisters and I did growing up....in Whittier/La Habra area, of all places, but near other cool places as well.

Nope. It is smack-dab in the center of Orange County.

Now, if you meant to say that "culturally" Irvine is similar to many other Orange County cities, I'll give you that. But Irvine is in a class by itself even so. At least IT has distinctive signage letting you know you are in Irvine. Lake Forest, Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills and Rancho Santa Margarita all have that same white on green (name only, no directional, no indicators of st, dr, etc.) Orange County generic (used for the unincorporated areas) signage even though they are bona fide cities and have been for some time. They seem to have some growing up to do in some regards.
