Default Much Needed Help Please...

I am planning to move to Newport Beach/Laguna Beach area in 2009.
I am a college student with about 8 months left before I receive my
bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.
I will be moving with at least 1 other buddy who is already a police officer, and a national guard in the Army.
Does anyone know police officers in any of these two cities, and what they feel about it?
Can a police officer, without overtime, court fee, and special pay live on a base salary of 75k-85k?
Is there a lot of beach front condos and houses that are looking for other people to move in with them?

Anyways any help would be great!
Thanks

PS-THIS WINTER WEATHER IN WISCONSIN SUCKS

I would assume most people that own pricey beach front homes in Orange County do not need a roommate to help with the cost. You may get close to the beach, but there are not many beachfront condos. Also, those are the two msot exclusive and expensive cities in the county so be ready for a higher cost of living.

You can share a nice 2 bedroom apartment and buy a nice (say $40k) car on that but that's about as far as that pay will take you.
