It should be ok over here in OC but I recently got back from Lake Tahoe via the 395 and caught a little snowstorm near Mammoth Lakes, I can tell you whiteout conditions are absolutely DEADLY in the Sierras, visibility can quickly reach zero while driving.

They are saying wind speeds in the Sierras could reach as much as 200mph (Category 4 hurricane) which means if you have snowboarding plans anywhere near Mammoth better cancel unless you want to tempt fate.

Northern/Central CA is getting pummeled but I think SoCal will just get some substantial rain. Fire areas may be another story.

The rain has been wonderful so far. I actually went kayaking down in Newport Harbor this afternoon. Beautiful as always.

OC weather tidbit: My wife bought my first daughter one of those cute little yellow raincoats when she was a toddler. It was a little big for her at the time so we thought she could grow into it. Well three years later we just found it hanging in the closet brand new and it is way too small for my second daughter to wear! I think I'll Fedex it to Goodwill in Seattle!

On a serious note, I wish those in the canyon burn areas the best, as this storm may create a muddy mess.
I LOVE THE WAY YOU THINK!!

Ah, I would love to kayak. I did a little kayaking when I was in Cozumel last year and had a blast.

Another reason to give a + for living in OC

Default I love the rain!

We got close to 2.25" in Brea, and the wind was blowing pretty good. But...... that's it really. I loved the rain, you can see that we actually have beautiful mountains afterwards. I know the weather in the Midwest gets pretty bad but you'll never see that here, unless your in the mountains. The news here will make it sound like the world is ending because we're getting a quarter of an inch of rain with 5 mph winds LOL! Worry about earthquakes, not whats coming out of the sky.
