Um, that is nowhere near Costa Mesa... I think you have your areas mixed up

Mbell,

Are you sometimes geographically challenged? If I recall correctly, you also recently said that Fashion Island is in Irvine, and Bloomfield Hills is a neighborhood within Detroit.

Nope. Edinger is still fairly deep within Santa Ana.

The block numbers heading south go to 4000 at Sunflower and Main, the absolute farthest south side of Santa Ana. (I know this because I espied it on a walk one night a few weeks ago....yes, I am a block wonk.)

Edinger is at about 1500 or 1600, depending on twists and turns it makes as it proceeds through the city.

Anyway, the part of Costa Mesa adjoining Santa Ana around Fairview (at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and near Sunflower) is not at all bad. It's the west-central side of town that has the reputation and some of the reality of being less than nice.

That's funny and really not true, one of the worst neighborhoods in Costa Mesa is closest to the ocean, it's known as SHALIMAR. Also there is a hood on the east side bordering Newport Beach. I gues you really have to be a local and up to date with the younger crowd. There is definitely gang activity in Costa Mesa. Do a drive around and you will see.
