Default Commute from Irvine to Carson

Any alternative routes to take aside from 405 or is 405 my best bet.
In your estimation, how long am I looking at daily if I leave @ 6am
Any tips, I'm new to the area. Much appreciated...

Just a wild guess, but I'd say leaving at 6am (not 6:30) it should only take 45 minutes or less (it's only 30 miles). It will be quite a bit longer going home. There is a small window in SoCal traffic between 10am and 2pm (if you are lucky). After 2pm things get cowded and by 3pm it's a mess everywhere.

But I should say that I have no personal experience commuting this partciular route.

And I might add that there are no secret routes left in SoCal. If an alternate route saves time it has been discovered. I would tune in your AM radio each day when starting out to 1070 and 980. They give traffic each 6 to 10 minutes. In case there is a big problem on the 405 you could save time by taking the 5 to the 22 or the 91. But normally I should think the 405 is shortest and fastest at 6am. Good luck with the drive home!
