Byesil11 - Are you working with a Realtor, they should be able to supply you with the test scores of the schools in the area. As you mentioned you are seriously considering Lake Forest, then Foothill Ranch and Portola Hills are the 2 top ranked schools, but you can check out the Saddleback Valley District website and google Califronia API scores and you'll get a good idea of what schools.
Misisonhome noted Foothill and Portola are far from the fwy, well that is exactly what most residents like about it, besides the beautiful surroundings. But you do have access to the toll roads.
