Default Jobs In Orange County??

Hi Everyone,

My fiance and I are considering moving to Orange County next year. He is a Mechanical Engineer and I am in Advertising and Public Relations. I would like to know if there are many opportunities for someone in Advertising and Public Relations in Orange County?? Also, I realize it is very expensive to live in the OC but also hear there is A LOT of money to be made as well. What opportunities are there for all this money to be made and why aren't more people making it? Thanks!!

You are right about a boom in jobs in the O.C. I've done my research and found that the biggest areas are in (1.) accounting/finance (2.) housing/construction (3.) computer tech. (4.) medicine

This is just what I got from looking at the classified and from word of mouth from living in Irvine. There are advertising jobs here, probably a bit more than other places, but nothing significant that I noticed. Pubic relations though is a field that is growing here that I would recommend.

Yes, the cost of living is significantly higher in OC, especially the further south you go. On the other hand the salaries here and low unemployment rate make up for it, not by that much, but enough to the point one can live somewhat comfortably.

Hahaha, don't know what to tell you about why or why not more people aren't making money here, maybe it's because the commercial sector has grown faster than the supply of employees, either way, there's plenty of work and money to be made across the board of qualifications.

Good luck.

Thank you!! You said that S. OC is more expensive to live than the northern part of the county. What cities would you recommend in N. OC??

North O.C.: Costa Mesa, Anahiem, Orange, Cypress, Yorba Linda, some parts of Tustin, Santa Ana and Fountain Valley. Like the beach areas? Newport and Huntington. I have lived in Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach and they are very nice!

Santa Ana sucks. It has gangs. It is just like Mexico.

Anaheim has some bad areas too.

Anaheim Hills is a nice area.

Yorba Linda is a nice, safe community with professional people.

Newport Beach is very nice, but too expensive. You have to be rich to live there.

Huntington Beach is nice, and may be affordable.

Fullerton
La Habra
Yorba Linda
Brea
Placentia
Anaheim Hills
Cypress
La Palma
Los Alamitos

All these cities are pretty nice and RELATIVELY (key word) affordable compared with south O.C.

Anaheim Hills you dont want your house falling down do you? basically the most affordable north orange county city is cypress. It is very family oriented, safe, and there are always little housing developments. The schools are great, and it is still developing unlike la palma and los al
