Hi:

Moving back to OC from Phoenix in June and seeking most affordable way to move. We will be downsizing and selling a lot of items before moving.

We do not want to drive our own truck - looking for ideas about what may have worked for you.

PODS seems interesting, but thought I would ask for feedback or other ideas/recommendations.

Thanks!

I have used pods locally in Orange County and I was happy with them. We loaded up our home at the end of my husband's military service when we couldn't move into our new home for a couple of months. They stored it until we were ready, and delivered to the new house at the other end of the county. Nothing was damaged, they were very prompt and communicated well. I was very nervous handing over basically all of my possessions to them and hoping it all worked out, but no complaints!

We used USHIP and found a guy with a huge trailer who happened to be in our area. He had several very positive previous reviews. That being said, if I had a ton of valuables I would not have used him since he wasn't officially licensed to move household goods. Still, it cost less than a U-Haul for the amount of stuff we had and he did all the driving.

I used Door to Door for a move to the midwest... Very Reasonable with No problems (except that I wasted two years of my life in Missouri)

I used the POD moving across the country. I thought it was much easier as we had the pod in the yard for a week on both sides and could take our time. I had compared the costs and it was in line with other moving options.
