Claremont is nice, quirky, brutally hot in the summer, and the smog. A couple of family member lives in that area...a lot of high IQ folks in that area as you approach CMc, HM, etc.

OK, thanks. Sounds like LB might be our best option.

This one is now under contract, and it wouldn't surprise me to see the other one taken in a few days since, as condos, they are completely detached, with full 2 car garages and backyards.

I can understand the appeal of a detached unit for a condo buyer, as they have no common walls, but still sell for far less than SFRs in the same general area (HOA fees are higher). This one was also recently snatched up. It's too bad that they can't paint the garage door another color to make it more evenly blend in with the rest of the condo.

The garage door is far too prominent. Other than that, it seems to have the ubiquitous builder's basic interior which, hopefully, will be upgraded.

The interior is whatever. The exterior of the place literally makes me want to vomit.

Blame the wonderful South County builders for their hideous products. Sellers didn't build that Legoland stuff. My guess is that the buyers are mostly interested in 1) Location 2) A lower cost detached unit. Who knows?

Things are crazy out there, and the latest (last 30 days) average asking price for a SFR in Aliso Viejo is now at least $849,900 (Three of the four lowest priced units, of the 22 listed, are actually condos, not SFRs).

This detached Aliso condo is equally ugly as the last one, but it just went under contract for $729,900. It's only saving grace is the backyard pool.

I do. And I will never live in the vast majority of South County because it makes my eyes bleed.

Pool is nice although pretty cramped for such a small back yard.

Are you buying a condo in Anaheim? If so, do you find the new construction in that area to be better than that of South OC?
