Pretentious?
FYI, there is no city of Anaheim Hills. Those so called "non pretentious" people in East Anaheim that live at a slightly higher altitude then those lower, think they have a seperate city but in reality do not.

I know there is no Anaheim Hills city, but it does not mean it doesnt exist. We can be proud of our community just because we dont have a corrupted council representing us. Honestly, I, nor do my neighbors, really care whats going on in the rest of the city. We are only technically part of Anaheim, culturally, and socially, we are not.

BS, you are no different then I am culturally or socially and I live near the 57 and Lincoln. I have good and bad neighbors just like you do in the higher part of Anaheim. Take a second to look down from the mount instead of through your nose and realize there are good and bad everywhere.
I am sure when that scumbag killed his girlfriend's family and lit them on fire in "Anaheim Hills" you were one of the people saying, "I can't believe this happened here". Plus that woman who was arraigned yesterday for being drunk when her child drowned last week.
Nice community you have up there. It is no different then down here, just higher property taxes.

Anaheim Hills sucks. It's awfully georgeous, but it's next door to the Inland Empire. It's an aging community for the old and wealthy. AH people don't have to look good, because all they do is sit on their rocking chair on their porch and enjoy the "amazing" view. I would love to be rich one day and retire there.
On the other hand, people in Newport still care about being young and active. They go kayaking, swimming, surfing, rowing, yachting, etc.
Can you possible imagine a reality show based in Anaheim Hills? Each episode will show aging boomers hiking the hills. That's so thrilling!
Orange County is all about lifestyle.

Hmm, I guess Newport Beach people are cranky and whiny too. Well, what did I expect? And no, Anaheim Hills people arent old, they are middle aged residents who have money, and kids who are either in high school or grown up. Thats not to say that there arent people at all age points like any locale.
And for you to say that Anaheim Hills is old, Newport Beach's Corona del Mar, Santa Ana Heights, and the Newport Heights area were developed in the 1950's and Balboa/Lido Isle were developed around that time as well. AH was developed in the 1970's-1990's; quite younger than Newport.
Again, I did not intend for this post to become a Anaheim Hills basher, but what did I expect from you coastal people who think you rule OC and that the county revolves around you. Take a look at the stats, the 4/5 wealthiest places in the county are all inland (Yorba Linda, Villa Park, Anaheim Hills, and Coto de Caza whereas Laguna Beach is the only top 5 location coastal). Demo -Link
And for you to say that we are knocking on the Inland Empires door is ridiculous. Newport Beach's eastern neighbor is Santa Ana, not exactly Beverly Hills, and to the north is Costa Mesa, again, not exactly Beverly Hills. All of OC is close to a not so great area.

duuude seriously Anaheim Hills is cool I guess to me its in the the middle of no where, it may be hotter than the coastal cities, but I just do not understand what the point of saying KUDOS TO ANAHEIM HILLS. I guess you wanted people to start a trend saying KUDOS TO NEWPORT BEACH or something.

I know people in the neighborhood of the drowning who consider themselves in Anaheim Hills. That shows the elitism of the area both high and low and how there is no difference. It is all just Anaheim.

Anaheim Hills is a planned community, this area (around Yorba Park) is not part of Anaheim Hills. They call themselves that incorrectly, and I know people who live around there too who call it Anaheim Hills (even though they cannot serve on the Anaheim Hills community board because they dont live in Anaheim Hills).
And someone (like you) who lives in Anaheim would say "its all just Anaheim". We dont consider ourselves to live in Anaheim (for the most part). Who would want to be affiliated with such a city with a reputation like that? Its a city of 50 year old slum apartments, concrete, and illegal immigrants. Do you blame us for wanting to separate ourselves from this reputation.
I will NEVER make another positive post on this forum again, these OC residents who live here and comment on city-data are bitter, cranky people who have nothing better to do than bash those who are trying to be positive about the place they live. Its sickening, and I hope non-OC people can see how angry and rude OC'ers really are.
Remember, those of you in Newport have "more funner" than we do in Anaheim Hills.

I get it now. You only started this thread because no one ever talks about Anaheim Hills. Even Coto gets a tv show on Bravo. Honestly, Anaheim Hills is one of the nicest areas in the County. And it's definitely a great place to live.
But for someone who is visiting the OC, it's all about the Coast... and Disneyland. Also, Newport is close to Laguna, Irvine, Costa Mesa, Huntington, and the beach. Anaheim Hills is close to dirt, dirt, and more dirt.
