Be civil, no personal attacks, flaming, or insults. We may attack ideas (politely) but we do not attack the speaker of the idea. Be careful with your words, there is a point where being direct crosses a line into blunt, in-your-face hostility.

Come on guys this thread is becoming too much. We each have personal opinions and that is allowed, but according to the terms we all agreed to when we signed up for C.D. we agreed to the quote at the top of my post. Lets be adults.

I was looking at real estate in Anaheim hills and although I saw some for millions I was wondering are the cheaper homes in a bad neighbor hood? Thanks.

Well, basically anything north of Santa Ana Canyon Road will be less expensive than "true Anaheim Hills." Also, as stated in other posts some homes are mistakenly (or intentionally from Realtors) marked Anaheim Hills when they technically are not. In any case anything in or near Anaheim Hills is pretty safe and I wouldn't be too concerned.

Most of the listings under $750K are not really in Anaheim Hills, realtors mistakenly list them as such. Generally, north of the 91 freeway is not Anaheim Hills. Realtors know that, but also know they can get more money out of a house if they list it as AH, so they are being deceptive in a way. Some of the areas north of the 91 that are not AH (but share an AH zip code because the USPS made the boundaries before AH was even created) are a bit rougher, but by no means bad.
Concluding, the Anaheim Hills citizens coalition, and Canyon Hills CC only allow those who live south of the 91 to be in the organizations because that is the true Anaheim Hills.

Yes, generally homes north of the 91 are not Anaheim Hills, but are listed as such by manipulative realtors who want to milk more money out of their listings. This area (the Woodsboro area, Riverdale area, and Esperanza High area) has about 80% of the homes that are listed for less than $750,000. Yes, there are smaller homes in Anaheim Hills that are under $750,000, but the majority are larger and approach a million or more (unless they are townhomes).
Just looking at the real estate that is listed must not be taken for face value because a lot of the homes are incorrectly listed by the realtors (kind of like Rossmoor and Los Alamitos or Newport Beach and Newport Coast sometimes get realtors who incorrectly list homes because ZIP codes are shared between common areas, thus they can get away with it.)

Anyway, I see this thread turning into a huge bash-fest. I am in the process of moving to Anaheim Hills from Brea and while I love my Northern OC cities it doesn't change the fact that the beach cities are equally amazing. They are both very wealthy areas with some down to earth people and some pretentious people. I love Anaheim Hills because from where I live I have an amazing view of the valleys and foot hills of OC from one side and south OC and the beach from the other. Lets nip this one in the bud before it turns into a war against the cities LOL.

It is "more fun". Not "funner".

North Orange County

But I agree the desirable areas of North Orange County are less pretentious than Newport and South. Newport Beach really isn't too bad. Newport Coast is a different story and a lot of Newport Coast folks aren't from California. An article in the register said the Corona del Mar zip was the most giving in Orange County.

The bedroom communties in North Orange County like Brea, Yorba Linda, Placentia and are snuggled away and forgotten because of their inaccessible access to freeways and major cross streets. There is the long stretch of Imperial Highway and the 91. That is pretty much it. Fullerton has CUSF and the Harbor Blvd. Downtown area.

Fun things to do in AH

Anaheim Hills neighbors Anaheim, Orange, Yorba Linda, and unincorporated dirt. Please let me know what is one fun thing to do in AH?

By the 91 Freeway off of La Palma Ave. and Imperial Highway there is the Cinema City Movie Theater that shows new released movies for $5. On the corner there is Keno's, Marie Calendars, Starbucks, Golden Spoon frozen yogurt, and Carl's Jr. Down the street in Yorba Linda, there is a bowling alley with karokee.
